PRIORITIES

Kevin's Priorities:

A Thriving Oakland

Kevin’s vision is simple: an Oakland that works for everyone. A city where families can thrive, businesses can succeed, seniors are supported, and young people see a clear path forward. By focusing on practical solutions, strong partnerships, and community-driven leadership, Kevin is helping shape an Oakland defined not by its challenges, but by its resilience, talent, and limitless potential. Together, we can build a future rooted in opportunity, safety, and shared success.

Quality of life

A thriving Oakland is a city where every neighborhood is vibrant, connected, and full of opportunity. Kevin is focused on strengthening the essentials that make daily life better — from well-maintained streets and reliable infrastructure to accessible parks, small business corridors, and community spaces that bring people together. By investing in thoughtful development, supporting local entrepreneurs, and improving core city services, Kevin is working to ensure that District 6 and all of Oakland remain places where families can build their futures with pride and possibility.

Children, Youth, Family

Oakland’s future is being shaped right now in our classrooms, community centers, and homes. Kevin believes every child deserves access to safe spaces, strong schools, enrichment opportunities, and pathways to success. He is committed to expanding youth programming, supporting workforce development, and strengthening partnerships with families, educators, and community organizations. By investing in our young people and supporting working families, we build a city where the next generation can thrive — and where parents feel confident raising their children.

Seniors

Oakland should be a city where residents can age with dignity, connection, and security. Kevin is committed to ensuring seniors have access to the resources they need — from housing stability and public safety to transportation, health services, and community programming. By strengthening neighborhood networks and supporting senior centers and intergenerational initiatives, Kevin is working to create an Oakland where longtime residents feel valued, supported, and empowered to remain active members of the community they helped build.

School Safety

Every student deserves to learn in an environment that is safe, supportive, and focused on growth. Kevin believes school safety goes beyond physical security.  It means creating campuses where students feel valued, protected, and connected. He is committed to strengthening coordination between schools, families, public safety partners, and community organizations to ensure clear communication and proactive prevention. By supporting mental health resources, safe routes to school, expanded after-school programming, and strong safety protocols, Kevin is working to build learning environments where students can thrive, parents feel confident, and educators can focus on teaching. Safe schools strengthen families, neighborhoods, and the future of our city.

Public Safety

A thriving city is a safe city — where families feel secure, businesses can grow, and neighbors look out for one another. Kevin supports a balanced, community-centered approach to public safety that includes strong partnerships between law enforcement, violence prevention programs, neighborhood leaders, and youth outreach organizations. By investing in prevention, accountability, and collaboration, Oakland can continue building safer streets and stronger trust across communities.

Cleanliness

Clean neighborhoods reflect pride, opportunity, and shared responsibility. Kevin is committed to keeping Oakland’s streets, parks, and business corridors clean and welcoming. Through expanded clean-up initiatives, improved coordination of city services, and partnerships with residents and community groups, he is working to foster a culture of stewardship and care. A cleaner Oakland strengthens local businesses, boosts neighborhood morale, and creates an environment where everyone can feel proud of where they live.
